Cadboro Bay, British Columbia

Cadboro Bay is a seaside community and bay located on southern Vancouver Island in the Canadian province of British Columbia, located in the Municipality of Saanich just to the north of the Municipality of Oak Bay. Cadboro Bay is a neighbourhood nestled between the University of Victoria uphill to the west and some of the most expensive neighbourhoods in Greater Victoria on the other sides: the Uplands district to the south, Ten Mile Point to the east and the Queenswood neighbourhood, with its multi-million dollar, secluded homes to the north. The heart of Cadboro Bay is its English style village shopping area. One of the main attractions of Cadboro Bay is its curving, sandy beach. The beach lines the shoreline of the body of water which bears the name "Cadboro Bay".

At the foot of Sinclair Road is the Cadboro Bay Beach Public Park with a concrete octopus, whale, tugboat and a replica of the sea monster, Cadborosaurus. The body of water named Cadboro Bay is the home of the Cadborosaurus, nicknamed Caddy, a mythical sea monster that has supposedly been spotted in the calm waters of the bay. Cadboro Bay gets its name from the first Hudson's Bay Company sailing vessel brought to the BC Coast, the Cadboro, which was the first vessel to anchor in the bay.[1][2]
